Data Security & Privacy

Last updated: August 6, 2026

This Data Security & Privacy overview describes SketchPro's practices for storing, processing, and protecting customer data across the SketchPro platform. For purposes of this document, "Customer" means any organization or individual that has entered into a subscription or services agreement with SketchPro.

"Project Standards" means indexes, summaries, patterns, conventions, and other information derived from Customer Data through the Services.

1. Data Ownership

All documents, drawings, models, PDFs, project metadata, and other content uploaded to or made available to SketchPro by a Customer, including through a Connected Service (collectively, "Customer Data"), remain the sole property of the Customer. SketchPro does not claim any ownership rights, reuse rights, or derivative rights over Customer Data, Project Standards, or outputs provided to the Customer.

Customer Data is used exclusively to provide the services requested by the Customer, such as generating views, schedules, annotations, and other documentation outputs inside SketchPro; answering project questions; maintaining project context; and producing Project Standards and other requested outputs.

2. Data Storage & Encryption

SketchPro stores Customer Data, including project metadata and Project Standards, in secure cloud infrastructure operated by Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Railway. SketchPro also uses third-party providers for authentication, analytics, AI processing, and connections authorized by the Customer.

All Customer Data is protected using multiple layers of encryption. Data transmitted between Customer devices and SketchPro's servers, and between SketchPro and a Connected Service, is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher, preventing interception or tampering in transit. All Customer Data stored by SketchPro is encrypted at rest using AES-256, the standard used by major financial institutions and global cloud providers. This includes object storage, databases containing project metadata, Project Standards, logs, and references, generated outputs, and backups and replicas. Encryption keys are managed and rotated by the relevant cloud providers using managed key-management systems, including Google Cloud KMS.

Each Customer's data is stored in logically isolated environments, ensuring that Customer Data is segregated from other SketchPro customers. Depending on the features used, Customer Data may include project metadata, Project Standards, operational logs, and generated outputs.

3. Connected Services & Customer Control

A "Connected Service" is a supported third-party service that a Customer authorizes SketchPro to access. Customers control which accounts, projects, and other resources they connect. SketchPro uses a Connected Service only to provide features enabled by the Customer. Customers can revoke a Connected Service through SketchPro or the third-party service. Revocation stops future access but does not delete Customer Data already stored by SketchPro. Customers may request deletion as described in Section 5.

4. Use of Customer Data for AI

Customer Data is processed only to generate the outputs and provide the features requested by Customer users, including Project Standards. SketchPro does not use Customer Data to train, fine-tune, or improve any internal AI models or third-party foundation models. When third-party AI services are used, SketchPro uses enterprise-grade APIs where Customer Data is not used for model training by those providers.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Customer Data, such as chat histories, project metadata, and Project Standards, is retained for the duration of the Customer's subscription. Users may delete their chat histories at any time, and Customers may request deletion of Customer Data. Upon deletion, Customer Data is removed from active systems immediately. System backups are retained for up to 30 days and then permanently purged.

6. Access Controls

Access to Customer Data is restricted to authorized SketchPro personnel who require access for platform operations, support, or security. Protections include role-based access controls, logged and monitored access, and least-privilege permissions. No Customer Data is accessible to SketchPro employees by default.

7. Confidentiality

SketchPro treats all Customer Data as confidential information. Customer Data is never shared with third parties except as required to provide the SketchPro service, such as secure cloud hosting, AI processing, or a Connected Service authorized by the Customer, or as required by law. Except for disclosures required by law, Customer Data shared with a third party is always subject to written confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
